I’m a big believer that the best beauty products are not always the most expensive in the store. Drugstore brands keep improving their quality and are producing some of the best products on the market. Why do you think it’s so easy to find makeup dupes these days? One quick search on pinterest and you can literally find any high end dupe you could possible want.
While I have quite a few drugstore brands that I swear by, recently I’ve been most impressed with the products that L’oreal is producing. I’ve been so happy with these products that most of my everyday makeup routine is purely L’oreal. It’s not very often that I can say that for one company, because my routine is usually just a hodge podge of random favorites. But I honestly can’t wait to share these NEW favorites with you.
(Also, don’t mind me making funny faces at myself in the mirror)
First things first, everyone knows you have to have a good base for your makeup to really look like anything. I was a little skeptical of this foundation at first because I tend to like dewy skin and this foundation says Pro-Matte. However, I have found that dewy foundations tend to wear off as the day progresses, whereas this one claims to be a 24 hour foundation. I’ve also seen it recommended several times as being a dupe for more expensive brands. For the price, I figured it couldn’t hurt to try it.
I have to say, this color is one of the best skin matches I have found in a very, very long time. I’m extremely fair, especially in the winter (as I’m sure you can tell from these photos) and most foundations tend to look a little on the orange side compared with my skin. I picked up the lightest shade in this foundation and it looks beautiful.
I apply it with a slightly damp brush to make sure it spread super evenly and I love the finish. It honestly just looks like my actual skin, but evened out and smooth.
As for staying power, by the end of the day I can never tell a difference in the appearance of my skin. It does take a little more scrubbing to take it off before bed to make sure my skin is really clean, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay for all day coverage.
Next we have the Pro Contouring Pallet. I’m probably the most happy with this product out of any of them, and that’s saying something. For fair skinned girls, there is no beating this product. I saw another blogger, Kate from The Small Things Blog, wrote about this and she is so right! It does NOT look orange but has a nice cool shade to it that looks super natural on fair skin. You can build it as much as you want and it will still look natural. I find that I only have to apply a little under my chin and under my cheek bones to finish my face.
On to eyes. You probably know by now that the LA Nude Pallets are some of the top eyeshadow pallets in my opinion, since I wrote a post about them here. For today’s makeup I decided on the LA Pallet Nude 2 and I used three shade on my eyes for a subtle look. The farthest left color, the fair pink, I put all over my eyelids. The purple/grey color in the photo I put into my crease and along my lower lash line, and the darker brown to the right of it, I put along my upper lash line to darken that area since I wasn’t using eyeliner.
Last, but DEFINITELY not least, we have one of my all time favorite lip products. It’s more of a lip stain than a gloss, so be careful applying the color. But once the colorful side 1 is on, you seal it with the balm of side 2 and that color is not going to budge. At work this is a must, because I don’t have time to think about reapplying my lipstick between each class. Also this product is boyfriend approved because he can still kiss me without getting lipstick on him.
All four of these products are an unbelieveable value for their price. I’m still kind of blow away by it. Easy, one stop shopping for an easy everyday look.
This post was not paid for. L’oreal doesn’t even know I’m writing it. I just genuinely love these products.
