I’ve become quite the plant lady. Currently we have 12 plants in the house and I’m in the process of propagating 2 of my succulents which means at some point we will have a lot more. Since we live in a high rise we obviously don’t have any land to have any sort of garden, but I love being able to bring some greenery inside. Something about plants just makes the apartment feel so homey.
I also have so much fun hunting for cute bowls and planters to house all of my plants. Pinterest is literally overflowing with ideas on how to style plants in your home and I love thinking of all the ways we can continue to add to our plant collection. I put together some of my favorite looks for you guys:
Obviously this is a classic: large plants in large floor planters. You honestly can’t go wrong. Spreading them out around the room, like the first picture, is the style we currently have going on in our small apartment. But I love the idea from the 2nd photo of grouping a bunch to put in a hallway or entry. The 3rd option is a super funky and cute way to use plants in a bathroom that perhaps you don’t use regularly. Makes watering them super easy, right?
This look is absolutely perfect for hallways or to add some life to an empty wall in your house. A simple bench stacked with plants is super fun and get’s them off the ground. So perfect for if you want to put some storage under the bench.
I’ve honestly always wanted a ladder full of plants. I’m not really sure where this day dream of mine came from (let’s be honest, I probably saw it on Pinterest somewhere), but I’ve talked about finding an old painter’s ladder somewhere and putting it at our window. I think it’s such a fun way to have all shapes and sizes of plants all in one place. This would even transition really well to an outdoor planter on a patio or deck.
Of course there’s nothing new about putting plants on shelves or in window sills. Our succulents are all gathered together at the window as well. But this sort of arrangement really makes the planters pop. You can mix and match patterns like the first image, or mix and match style with the same color like the second. Both are super cute!
I feel like this style is perfect for succulents or kitchen herbs. Really any small, light weight plant. How fun is it to have all your herbs right there by the kitchen counter? But you could also use this style to dry out some flowers to use for later.
Hanging planters are gaining in popularity and you see a lot of people using macrame nets for a lot of hanging plants. But I think smaller plants (possibly succulents again) all in different planters, hanging at different heights is one of the cutest things ever! If you had a big window that would be such a cute addition. If you don’t have that much room, something like this vertical hanger will help you utilize your space and hold several plants at once.
For dried plants:
I keep seeing Apothecary bottles every where as they’ve become more and more popular as a styling piece. Any kind of dried flower can look super cute in one of these. The only downside is they don’t hold very much.
For those of you that love the look of greenery but don’t want the upkeep, try one of these framed options. Flowers, leaves, you name it, they look great framed in a see through frame. I especially love the look of ferns when they are framed. This would make a beautiful gallery wall or an eclectic and artsy collection on a dresser.
Finding the perfect spot to show off all of your little plants is half the battle. The other half is finding a beautiful planter to put them in. There are so many beautiful options to choose from lately, and while I typically look for handmade pottery, I also love the look of modern planters. Our apartment is already pretty modern, with all of it’s exposed concrete, but these options would look beautiful in any home!
Are you a crazy plant lady as well? What are some of your favorite ways to show off your indoor plants?
