I want to start this post by saying that I am so thrilled and humbled by the fact that people come and read my blog each week. It seriously is the coolest thing to start seeing repeat readers and be able to read the blogs that most of them write as well. Blogging is one of the only professions that you get to see so many different people, hear their views, and be able to collaborate and talk to them everyday. And for those of you that have somehow found me and are sticking around, you will never know how much it means to me that you have stopped by my little piece of the internet.
I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Aashna of the blog AP the PA and she has been such a sweet person to talk to through my blog. I’ve honestly heard so many different versions of the rules for the Liebster Award, but from what I have found, it is an award given to bloggers by other bloggers, to acknowledge that they like what the other is doing, and it serves as a way to get to know other bloggers better. The person that nominates you poses some questions that you will answer, and then you nominate some of your own favorite blogs with your own questions. I’ve also seen many bloggers include 10 random facts about themselves. So here it goes:
What show do you binge watch on Netflix?
This is going to sound totally nerdy, but I’m almost 6 seasons into watching the original X-Files. I love the campy humor, as well as the bizarre mysteries of each show. But I’m also a HUGE fan of House of Cards and am still working my way through the newest season.
What is the one thing you always do when you start your day?
Walk my dog. Though that may sound mundane and boring, it’s one of my favorite times of the day. I live right next to a lake, so everyday before work, Radley and I take a long walk around the lake, taking in the sights (and smells, for him).
What do you find most difficult about blogging?
Finding enough time in the day to get everything done. I’m not kidding at all when I say that I have 36+ post ideas on my calendar still to do. But I currently work full time as a teacher as well, and planning for school plus just living life leaves me very little time for anything else.
What is your favorite quote?
This changes constantly, but right now it is a quote by Tyler Gregson that says, “We are minute, miniature miracles given mere moments to meander this magical place. Forget not you are free to find the fantastic in the fleeting, terrific teeny things in all the temporary. Life is lovely because it cannot last, loss is nothing but the loosening of all the perfectly pristine pieces of the pure and preposterous places we will wander filled with wonder and wild wanderlust into. Always appreciate all the amazing and awe inducing, beg for more breath to borrow, simply so someone or somewhere or something can slide silently in and sneakily steal them swiftly and slyly away.”
What makes you smile?
Dog photos. I follow so many dogs on Instagram that it’s embarrassing.
Why did you start your blog?
I’ve started different blogs at different times in my life, but none of them have ever stuck until now. I’ve always loved the idea of blogging, and felt like I had things to say, but like I said in a previous answer, time always got the best of me. But if I could do the same things everyday for the rest of forever I would love to just work on graphic design, photography, and writing. Thankfully, blogging is just a culmination of all three. So I guess you could say I started it because it allowed me to do all the things I love at once.
What quality do you most appreciate in people?
Kindness. Even if you fall short in other areas, if you are a genuinely kind and caring person, that goes a long way with me.
How do you actively reach out to more readers for your blog?
Social Networking sites like Pinterest and Instagram. I also try to stay actively involved in other blogs that I follow to make friends within the community. I find that most of my readers are bloggers as well.
What store is your go to for clothing?
Anthropologie. I’m totally biased because I worked there for 2 years. And while it’s kind of expensive for my current budget, I’ve tried to start investing in staple pieces that are better quality (and usually higher in price) rather than cheap, low quality clothing.
Who is your favorite blogger at the moment?
That changes practically daily, because so many amazing women are doing an incredible job with their blogs. I do continuously go to InTheFrow.com because I love her style and her blog’s design. But I always love the women of ABeautifulMess.com and I can say that they have always been a HUGE inspiration to me and how I want to run my blog.

In no particular order
The Simplicity Blog : Emilee is crazy beautiful and all of her adorable outfits look fantastic on her. Plus her photography is so creative and original, I find her blog so inspirational.
Maggie a la Mode : Maggie’s got a great eye for putting pieces together. She has a very classic style that I find refreshing. Not only is she stylish, but she’s got the brains to back it up as an engineer!

Love Style Mindfulness : First of all Sinead is gorgeous and her style just amplifies that fact. Every outfit posts makes me totally envious of her closet, not to mention that her blog aesthetic is top notch and looks as though she has a lot more experience than just 2 years.
Make and Mess : I LOVE Michelle’s diy projects. They are so creative and turn out beautifully. She has some great tips and inspiration on her site to sift through, as well as some delicious looking recipes. And let’s be honest, I need all the help cooking that I can get.
