Last month Mike and I were lucky enough to take an amazing vacation to Scotland. It’s the first vacation that we’ve ever taken together, and the first one that I’ve been able to plan from scratch. I was a little nervous how Mike and I would travel together, because that can show a lot about a relationship. But we survived it! Actually, we more than survived. We flourished! We travelled so so well together and came back even more crazy about each other, if that’s even possible.
But enough about the mushy stuff 😉
Our first two nights we spent in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. Despite being seriously jetlagged, we absolutely loved exploring Edinburgh. It’s very tourist-y, but has the history to back it up. There was so much to see and experience there, I wish we could have stayed longer. In fact, we might call this city home someday! 🙂 Dreamers can dream, right?
I highly recommend that you look up the story of Greyfriars Bobby, especially if you are a dog lover. Such a sweet dog/owner love. And of course, people leave him sticks and toys at his headstone.
The door to our sweet AirBnB house.
The Pentland Hills where my ancestors are from.
If you’ve ever seen Edgar Wright movie, The World’s End, then you understand why we absolutely had to eat at this pub.
If only I could snap my fingers and be back in Edinburgh.
