  • New to the resource library today: a lettering lesson for Fresh Start.
I’m still enjoying the New Year mentality of a fresh start. I always set plenty of goals for myself this time of year so that I really push myself and set myself up for success, but there’s also a lot of grace and empathy that goes into this time of year as well for all the goals that I didn’t meet last year or fell just short of and the ideas or projects that fell by the wayside. A fresh start means not beating yourself up over the areas where you fell short, but rather setting new goals for the year ahead and trying again. I think we all could use a fresh start every once in awhile, not just in the New Year, but there’s no time like the present!
  • Pulling some test prints of a sweet little mountain sketch. The original drawing was done as a concept for a tattoo for a dear friend. A different mountain was chosen in the end but I still keep coming back to this one, so I knew it needed to be turned into something else. Which one is your favorite, black or white ink?

  • Originally they were calling for snow here in Raleigh and I was ready for it! As much as I love warmer weather I also like for winter to feel like winter and wearing short sleeves in January has been throwing me off a bit. It doesn’t mean I won’t cozy up at home anyway though!
  • A sweet little floral sketch that didn’t get chosen for a friend’s wedding invites but I still think it’s lovely. Now it’ll just live here on Instagram until I come up with another way to use it 💕
  • Did you know that I only take on one client project at a time? This maybe a tad unconventional, but I love being able to focus completely on each client individually and really take the time to get to know them and what their brand needs. .
However, I do book in advance, usually a couple months out, and I’m already getting things in gear for my February clients. A design spot has just opened up in the month of February for a web design project! This is perfect for anyone with an already established brand that is looking to pull out all the stops and give their website or blog a huge makeover for 2019. Inquire on our website if this sounds like the perfect fit for you!
  • One of my business resolutions was to work on my social media presence this year. Compared to most businesses I probably have a small following. Some may even consider it tiny, but you know what, I’m okay with that! I’m so stinking proud of this little business because I built it! And I’ve loved getting to know my followers and to see the same people popping up in my comments everyday. So my goal for this account is not to have a HUGE following, but rather to build a community that I’m proud to be a part of.
Today on the blog, I’m talking about how to be successful with a small following and why it’s not a number you should be stressed with.
  • Selling tangible goods is always so interesting to me. Each item tends to have its own season for thriving, and it’s something I just can’t predict. For reasons unknown to me, this little print is getting some mega attention lately and I’m like a proud momma over here. It’s funny how attached we can get to the things we create and I’m just so glad you guys are loving these little coffee prints I dreamed up last year. I think it’s about time I paint some more, what do you think?? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
