So this week’s dupe is not nearly as expensive as some previous weeks (see my valentino vs BCBG dupe!), but if you are anything like me, a little saving can go a long way.
Bathing suit season is coming to an end, and I never really did achieve my beach-ready-body this summer. My fitness routines have been slacking. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t done my fair share of bathing suit shopping. Victoria’s Secret has always been my go to for bathing suits because they have just the right amount of sex appeal without over doing it (although the fad of having your bathing suit act like a push up bra kinda borders the line of being too sexy, in my opinion.)
I fell in love with this brightly colored bikini from VS when I saw it online. Most bikini’s now come as separates so you can mix and match, which is great because you can customize your bathing suit, but not great when you realize you have to pay for the set individually. So the Bandeau top can be as much as $53 and then the matching bottom is $23. Not to mention tax, depending on where you live. I just can’t bring myself to fork over close to $80 for a bathing suit I can only wear a few times during half the year.
So while I was in Target the other day, wandering through the aisles and getting sucked into buying all the little things I don’t need, I spotted these two bathing suits (one & two), both by Xhilaration that have tops that cost $18 and bottoms that cost $15, equaling a little less than $35, less than one top from VS would be. The suits are just as cute with the same bright color blocks, and yet come in a little bit different styles, depending on your preference (string bottom vs hipster bottom, etc).
I’m not gonna lie, Target has certainly stepped up their bathing suit game. They also have a ton of swimwear on sale currently, so who knows what treasures you may find.
