First week of October done and in the books. I know I’m not alone in saying, I. Love. Fall.
Although, with this awful hurricane passing through, the rain has put a damper on things. My heart goes out to all those that are facing this hurricane. We are pretty far from the coast so I only expect some rain this weekend. Others are in more intense circumstances, so be sure to keep them in mind as you go about your weekend.
This Business Week
I saw a huge jump in my traffic here on the blog and on my studio due to gaining some guest bloggers and my new promotion tactics. It’s cool to see more friends joining my readership, since I’ve actually been kind of quiet about sharing this blog with my friends and family.
I also took over a social media campaign, and while it’s not what I usually get hired to do, I’m already figuring out news ways to promote my own business as well.
I have another weekend to myself, so I’ll probably be hanging out around the house with Radley (who am I kidding, I’ll probably be working). Any good Netflix recommendations I should hear?

USING
This section is not going to be “Buying” this week, because frankly I’m trying to save some money.
Balsam + Fir Candle
This candle is on sale right now and literally smells like all things fall. It’s got a little bit of pine tree smell (though it’s a bit early to be smelling Christmas trees around here), but when it’s lit it has a nice logs-in-the-fireplace atmosphere. I’ll be burning this candle for the rest of forever.
Revlon Nail Polish
This nail polish, named ‘Scandalous‘, has me feeling all kinds of Halloween-y. It’s the perfect combo of girl and vampy.
Ink Pads
These little gems came from the $1 section of Target and I’m so stoked to try them (surprisingly I couldn’t find them anywhere online). The copper and burgundy really have my interest, but the emerald will probably be great come Christmas time!
TO BUY
CoSchedule
So even though this is a digital product, I’m still kind of obsessed with CoSchedule. I used up my 2 week free trial, and am now trying to decide whether or not to buy it. My social media scheduling is going through withdrawals without it!
Color Block Ankle Boots
Who doesn’t love Anthropologie boots? Especially when they are on sale?! These color block boots would go with so much in my closet, so that means I have to get them, right?
Caftan Dress
I also feel like I need this dress. Even though it looks kind of summery to me and summer is on it’s way out. But it would be gorgeous with some boots and a scarf this winter. Navy products just get me every time.
INSPIRATION
Kotryna Bass Designs
I’m already a huge fan of Kotryna Bass, and I’ve only known about her a short time. Not only do I feel like we are total kindred spirits (our names: Kotryna-Catryn, she lives with her fiance and her black pup-I live with Mike and my black pup, AND we are both website developers) but her designs are simply gorgeous. I would (and have) recommend her to any of my clients.
Modern Mud Ceramics
Some of you know that my father is a potter, so I will always have a love for the craft. I came across Modern Mud on Instagram and fell in love with her products. We quickly became Instagram buddies. Her designs are so feminine and refreshing and I already have a list of things I want to order.
Wilde House Paper
Once upon a time, one of my business ventures was to create a paper company with a dear friend of mine. Sadly, it fell through, but if it hadn’t I would dream of it being something like Wilde House Paper. These girls are all kinds of cool, working at Free People and all, but their paper products are stunning as well.
Everyone on the East Coast stay dry this weekend. Radley and I will be holding it down here in the apartment.
See you all Monday!
