If you read that title in the tune of White Christmas then let’s be best friends.
The time has come, and I’m apartment hunting yet again. Of the 7 years I’ve lived in Raleigh, I have moved 6 times. Sometimes to switch roommates, other times because life was taking a different direction. But I think I’m finally ready to find a place to call my own and stay put… even if it’s just for a few years.
I already know that I’m going to move into the actual central part of the city, right down the street from the capital building. And looking at the apartments that are available in the heart of the city makes me almost giddy. A lot of them are the epitome of city living, and that’s exactly what I’m hunting for.
And with apartments on the brain, my pinterest Home board is BLOWING. UP. Take a couple of seconds to look through my board and you’ll quickly understand that I like 3 things: open floor plans, industrial/unisex decor, and natural lighting. Lots and lots of natural lighting. i.e. big windows. I daydream about huge windows that let me (and Radley) look out over the city, and bring all the sites, smells, and noise inside for company.
I think it probably stems from spending a year in a room that how no windows and one glass paneled door that opened up to a railing. And it was supposedly the ‘master bedroom’. Let me just say, I think the lack of light was having negative effects on lots of aspects of my life. More sunlight=happier me.
Here are some windows I’ve come across in my online ventures that make me oh-so-envious of the people that get to call these places home.
What sort of things are deal makers or breakers for you when it comes to house/apartment hunting?
