I absolutely love weekends where I don’t have to do anything important. In fact, I LIVE for those kinds of weekends. The kind where I can lounge around the house, do my nails and put on a face mask, get some random jobs done that I neglected throughout the week, and just spend some time with Mike and Radley. There’s really nothing better.
Also, this mug is one of my favorites. A roommate of mine gave it to me as a Christmas present (he’s a history teacher and we love discussing historical figures like Henry the 8th) and when the mug is hot, the wives of Henry the 8th start to disappear. Kind of gross, but still entertaining.
On our weekends off we tend to spend a lot of time in coffee shops. I don’t know why, but if we can’t think of what else to do, we go to a coffee shop. And there are so many perfect spots around Raleigh to just relax in and get some work done.
A place we’ve just started to scope out is the Lucky Tree coffee shop right beside Meredith College. It’s a darling little place and is kind of an art shop meets coffee shop all in one. Sitting in there, you are surrounded by local art (paintings, t-shirts, jewelry, wood carving, you name it) and once we were in there when they had live music.
I absolutely fell in love with this one table by the window that we chose to sit at. It was a framed map of Raleigh and we sat there for quite some time mapping out our favorite places on the map.
I might have to do a DIY project based on this.
We also love Joule Coffee downtown, and had to pop in there for an afternoon pick-me-up. I love sitting in their window seating and watching the city pass by. I’m telling you, coffee shops are where to find us.
I so wish everyday was a lazy Sunday. Honestly, I’m still quite productive, and yet I just take my time and enjoy everything. But I guess it always goes, if you have something every day you don’t appreciate it as much. So I will always appreciate my lazy weekends when I’m lucky enough to have them.
