Believe it or not, the distressed jean is still around and going strong. I can genuinely say this is one look my grandmother has never approved of.
But despite your opinion on the tattered jeans look, the style keeps popping up in popular stores and on prominent blogs, and it’s looking as chic as ever. While the months are still cold lots of people are still shopping for darker colors and frankly, black looks good on everyone. With the distressed jean trend I’m loving the use of solid black jeans because they look so great with heels and formal tops as well as with boots and a sweater for the everyday outfit.
The ‘Catalyst’ Slouch Jean by Hudson can be found at Nordstrom and has just enough rip at the knees to stick with the trend without overdoing it. I think my favorite part about this pair is the zipper detailing on the thigh. Embrace your inner biker chick with this pair.
The J Brand Alana Crop Skinny Jeans from Anthropologie go for double the distress with a tattered hem at the ankle. As always I love the high waist that a lot of Anthropologie jeans have, but this is a pair I feel like I’d have to try on to see about the length.
If you’re looking for a cheaper option than the earlier pairs, H&M has their Skinny High Jeans for under $40.
And just to prove my point on how cute this trend is, here is the stunning Cara Loren wearing some distressed black skinny jeans while she’s out with her son Hanes. But then again she makes everything look great.
So have you picked up any distressed jeans yet?
